Primary Admissions

Primary Admissions for September 2025

If your child’s birthday falls between 1 September 2020 and 31 August 2021 your child will start Reception at an infant or primary school in September 2025.

Applications to join our Reception class in September 2025 can now be made via the DCC link below

Open Afternoon dates to follow, but we also welcome personalised tours during the school day.

The easiest way to apply is online. If you are unable to apply online, paper application forms are available on request.

The closing date to apply for a primary school place for September 2025 is midnight on Wednesday 15 January 2025

The offer of a school place will be made in April 2025

Secondary Admissions

If your child (current Year 6) is due to transfer to Secondary School in September 2025, Parents and Carers can make their application for Secondary School online by visiting the Durham Council website. Please apply online at http://www.durham.gov.uk/schooladmissions When you apply online you will receive an acknowledgement and an email on 3 March 2025 containing a link to obtain your offer of a school place from the Document Download Portal. Please save your login details.

Closing Date for Secondary School Applications is 31 October 2024.

If parents/carers do not wish to apply online they can complete a paper application form, these are available to print from the school admission website (same website address as above).

Alternatively these application forms can be requested by e-mail to or by telephone from the School Admissions and Transport Team.

You will be offered a school place for your child, via email on 1 March 2024.

Please note: If you have any Year 6 pupils who live in another Local Authority but attend your school, the parent/carer should contact their Home Local Authority (i.e. the authority to which they pay their council tax) to request an application form, even if the parent/carer would like to apply for a Secondary School in County Durham.

In-Year Transfers

Applications are welcome for all year groups during the school year. If you would like to transfer your child from another school, please inform their current school that this is your intention and request a school transfer form from the Local Authority or complete the In-Year Transfer application online.

Once the school transfer form has been received, parents/carers will be notified if there is place available and transition details will be discussed.

Big Lent Walk

This morning the whole school took part in The Big Lent Walk. Well done to everyone who took part! We have raised an astounding £417.50 for CAFOD! Thank you so much for your generosity, we are overwhelmed 💖💖

Coffee Afternoon

Huge thank you to everyone who came to our coffee afternoon on Friday to support our Lenten Fundraising. It was lovely to welcome everyone into school, watch this space for future events. Thank you to all who donated (cakes and cash). We raised a total £124 for our Lenten fundraiser.

Parish Mass

Our Year 1 and Year 2 children represented our school beautifully this morning at Mass at St Ives Church. Our children read so confidently and behaved impeccably as always. We are so proud. Thank you to all at St Ives Church for such a lovely warm welcome.
